Daniel Muondu, Head of Strategy and Governance 

Daniel Muondu is a Strategy Expert with 15+ years of international and multicultural experience in Strategy, Risk Management and Governance.

Professional Experience

Since the establishment of Azizi Consulting in 2007, Muondu has worked with businesses, governments and non-governmental institutions in countries across Africa and around the globe, namely Austria, Botswana, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Muondu has also served as a Strategy and Risk Management Associate Lecturer at KCA University, an associate trainer with the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), a Certified Trainer with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and a member of the Professional Trainers Association of Kenya (PTAK).

Prior to co-founding Azizi Consulting, Muondu held several positions, including CPA Lecturer at Strathmore University (Kenya), Manager of Internal Audit and Risk Management and Business Analyst at Deloitte (East Africa), and Statutory Financial Auditor at KPMG (East Africa).

Lilian Mwangi, Head of Internal Audit

Lilian Mwangi is our Head of Internal Audit. She has over 15 years of extensive experience in Risk Management.

Professional Experience

Lilian has been instrumental in enabling our clients to:

  • Carry out ERM training for the Board, Management, Risk Champions and Staff
  • Conduct a risk maturity assessment
  • Review/development of Risk Management Policy
  • Review/development of risk register
  • Review/development of risk appetite and tolerance statements

Lilian held several positions before joining Azizi, including Manager of Enterprise Risk Management at Deloitte (UK) and Senior Associate, Audit and Business Advisory Services at PwC (East Africa).

Professional Membership & Education

Lilian has a Master of Business Administration from Warwick Business School (UK), a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Science in Information Sciences.

She is a member of several professional bodies, including:

Ndegwa Charles, Head of Risk Management and Anti-Corruption

Ndegwa has over 15 years of professional experience in Risk Management and Internal Audit.

Professional Experience

During his extensive career in management consulting, he has helped organizations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia identify key risks that may impact their firms and develop effective Risk Management Strategies. Some of the leading organizations Ndegwa has worked with include:

  • Geothermal Development Company
  • Kenya Tourism Board
  • Kenya Seed Company Limited
  • Mwalimu National Sacco
  • KCA University and Chase Bank
Professional Membership & Education

A certified public accountant and information systems auditor, Ndegwa has a Bachelor of Computer Science Degree and is a member of the:

  • Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK)
  • Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)
  • Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)

Ndegwa is also an associate Risk Management lecturer/facilitator and an accredited trainer for the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
